Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed his readiness to step down as the president of Ukraine if such an action would secure lasting peace for the country.
“If it brings peace to Ukraine and if my resignation is truly necessary for that to happen, I’m prepared to do it. I’m willing to trade my position for NATO membership,” Zelenskyy remarked during a press conference in Kyiv on Sunday. “If these are the terms, I’m ready to leave immediately.”

Last week, officials from the US and Russia engaged in their inaugural high-level discussions in Riyadh. They reached an agreement to work towards “laying the groundwork for future cooperation” aimed at ending the war and normalizing relations.
“I sincerely desire more than just mediation from Trump. That alone is insufficient,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
