After putting in a year of hard work, I took the plunge and invested my first $10,000 into VTI. Fast forward six years, and I’ve watched my portfolio evolve. Here’s a rundown of where I stand now and my vision for two investment portfolios moving forward.
US Market Portfolio ($246K to $500K)
Since finishing school, I’ve zeroed in on the U.S. stock market. My strategy has centered around boosting capital gains, partly because of the hefty 30% tax on dividends. As time passed, I found myself leaning more towards the Singapore stock market, attracted by its potential for dividends, diverse market opportunities, and promising sectors.
I’ll admit, I haven’t been hands-on with this portfolio lately. I’ve been a bit uncertain about how to navigate further, mainly because stock picking already represents a large slice of my investments.
While I figure out my next steps for the U.S. portfolio, I’m also busy expanding other parts of my investment strategy.
