Southwest Gas Holdings is a key player in the natural gas sector. Their main utility subsidiary, Southwest Gas Corp., is responsible for purchasing, transporting, and distributing natural gas to around 2.2 million customers across Arizona, Southern Nevada, and Northern California. A significant portion of these customers, nearly half, reside in Arizona, especially in the areas around Phoenix and Tucson, while about 10% are located in Northern California. The bulk of Southwest Gas Corp.’s clientele—about 90%—are residential and small commercial users.
In addition to this, Southwest Gas Holdings extends its reach by offering gas and pipeline infrastructure services across 43 states and parts of Canada, thanks to its stake in Centuri Holdings. It’s worth noting that since the second quarter of 2024, Centuri Holdings has been publicly trading under the ticker CTRI, although it’s not currently covered by Argus.
Moreover, the company operates through the Great Basin, which owns and manages an interstate pipeline network across Idaho, California, and Nevada. It also runs a peak-shaving liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facility in Nevada. On the innovative side, Southwest Gas Holdings has been actively developing renewable natural gas (RNG) projects, showcasing their commitment to forward-thinking energy solutions.
