“Screw the CFA.”
I muttered those words to myself in frustration after failing the CFA exam for the second time back in 2015. Today, as the raindrops tap against my window, I feel compelled to share this chapter of my investing journey with you.
Ask any finance professional, and they’ll confirm that the CFA Program is recognized as one of the toughest exams in the finance world:
– You should expect to dedicate at least 1,000 hours to passing all three levels.
– Historically, only about 45% of candidates manage to pass each year.
– Committing to this path often means sacrificing evenings out and social gatherings.
The journey was anything but easy for me. I’ve never been the sharpest person in a room, and my academic record has more Cs and Ds than I’d like to admit. So, to get my foot in the door of the finance industry, I knew I needed to put in extra effort to conquer this formidable challenge.
What kept me going was a valuable lesson: attitude is everything.
I wasn’t just mildly interested in finance; I had to transform my interest into a passion for investing.
