To the editor: In the iconic film “The Sound of Music,” there’s a charming moment where Uncle Max, the mastermind behind the Von Trapp family’s daring escape, humorously remarks, “I like rich people. I like the way they live, and I like the way I live when I’m with them.”
A recent story from the L.A. Times suggests that this sentiment doesn’t seem to extend to coyotes. In affluent neighborhoods, these wild canines appear to be less frequent visitors. Inhabitants like tiny poodles, Chihuahuas, and French bulldogs seem to be quite pleased with this arrangement.
And I should note, this situation has nothing to do with any sophisticated defense setups gracing the balconies by the pool.
