Since going public about reaching the million-dollar mark—an ambitious goal I set for myself back in 2014—I’ve received numerous requests for details about the composition of my investment portfolio. If you’re just joining my blog journey, I’m happy to share a bit about how it all began and the path that led me here.
### In 2014, my financial journey was just beginning as an employee who knew only the basics of budgeting and saving.
I started out by writing my first article as a way to share with friends how I managed to save $20,000 as a recent graduate entering the workforce full-time. Surprisingly, this piece caught significant public attention. At that time, fresh graduates like myself typically earned between $2,000 to $4,000 per month, and I was on the lower end of that spectrum, making $2,500. The article generated a lot of conversation, attracting comments from many readers, some of whom offered the insight that with my savings, I should consider investing.
