Dear Editor,
I must commend Sen. Cory Booker for his sheer bravery and stamina, speaking for over 25 hours on the Senate floor. An unwavering champion for the values we hold dear, he stood for public health, clean air and water, and the protection of our civil rights, just to name a few. Senator Booker, thank you for advocating on behalf of Americans who cherish these fundamental aspects that enrich our lives. It’s crucial that we unite to safeguard the essential elements that have shaped the greatness of our nation.
Best wishes,

Dear Editor,
Booker’s feat should have taken front-page prominence. By breaking a filibuster record set by Sen. Strom Thurmond in 1957, he has truly made a mark. Hats off to him for attempting to awaken the Republican Party and for his efforts in defending our democracy.
Warm regards,

Dear Editor,
What Sen. Booker accomplished is nothing short of remarkable. His display of courage, honesty, and leadership is what we desperately need from our politicians today. By speaking truth to power and challenging authoritarian tendencies, he has called upon the heart of America to reclaim our nation. We owe him gratitude for his steadfast commitment to defending the rule of law and our Constitution. Now, it’s up to us to answer his call to action.
Sincerely,

Dear Editor,
Finally, the record set by segregationist Thurmond has been surpassed. However, it’s worth noting that despite Booker’s spirited critiques of President Trump and Republican policies, he hasn’t provided clear alternatives. This reminds me of the Democrats’ ineffective strategy during the 2024 presidential campaign, characterized by slogans like “stop Trump” without tangible solutions. How will Booker address the trillion-dollar federal budget deficit? Or is it just business as usual, leaving future generations to handle the country’s financial woes? For all his passionate speeches, I can’t help but see him as Don Quixote, tilting at windmills. Criticism abounds, but actionable proposals remain absent.
Best,
Raymond Roth, Oceanside
