To the editor: While catching the Rams versus Vikings match on Monday night, the prominent support for the Los Angeles Fire Department at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, was hard to miss.
However, we must also remember the fire departments scattered across Southern California, which dispatched their crews and engines to areas like Pacific Palisades and Altadena. Meanwhile, their colleagues remained in their communities, pulling extra shifts to ensure homes and businesses remained safe.
Just last Sunday morning, I noticed trucks from Downey, Montebello, and Pasadena parked at a corner in West L.A. The crews were grabbing breakfast after a long night of work. I’m sure that’s just a glimpse of all the cities that pitched in their resources.
So, while it’s important to acknowledge the contributions of the LAFD, we must also extend our gratitude to every firefighter across Southern California for their unwavering dedication.
