This marks my final blog entry as I wrap up a decade of collecting dividends and interest. I initially set up this blog as a personal finance diary, aimed at evaluating whether my investment strategy could truly replace active income.
For those who might not have been following my previous posts, let me offer a bit of background. I plunged back into investing in 2014, focusing from 2015 onward on dividend investing and fixed income strategies after stepping away from the stock market for nearly ten years. During my initial years, from 2015 through 2017, I cautiously began channeling more of my cash reserves into fixed income bonds and dividend-paying stocks. When I grew more confident with these investments—and with the Federal Reserve maintaining low interest rates—I decided to invest the majority of my cash holdings into the stock and bond markets. Over these ten years, I’ve managed to accumulate a total of $711k in dividends and interest.
