As we kick off 2025, there’s a noteworthy shift coming to the Central Provident Fund (CPF) contributions that might impact you.
Starting on 1 January 2025, there will be yet another increase in the CPF monthly salary cap.
This change builds on previous adjustments that took place on 1 September 2023 and again on 1 January 2024.
For those unfamiliar, the CPF monthly salary ceiling is the highest monthly wage amount that qualifies for CPF contributions.
To give you a quick recap, the CPF monthly salary ceiling had been raised to S$6,800 as of 1 January 2024, following a previous lift to S$6,300 on 1 September 2023 from the former S$6,000.
This means that if your earnings exceed S$6,800 each month, you won’t need to contribute to CPF on the portion of your salary above this limit.
The plan is for this ceiling to climb even higher in a series of stages beginning on 1 January 2025 and continuing into 2026.
