On Monday, the U.S. stock market saw a positive finish, with technology stocks paving the way for investor optimism about a potential “Santa Claus rally” as we approach the end of the year.
Notably, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 66.69 points, rising 0.2% to settle at 42,906.95. This marks its third consecutive day of gains, according to data from the Dow Jones Market Data.
Meanwhile, the S&P 500 also made strides, gaining 43.22 points, which equates to a 0.7% rise, to close the day at 5,974.07.
The Nasdaq Composite didn’t lag either, climbing 192.29 points, or 1%, reaching a closing figure of 19,764.89.
